Point of Sale (POS): Fast Counter Sales With Optional FBR/PRA Submit, Stock & Receipts

Counter sales move fast. Nobody wants to open a long invoice form, pick sale types, and click through three screens while a customer waits with cash in hand. That is why Wise Digital Invoice now ships a full Point of Sale (POS) module: a clean counter screen for scan, cart, pay, and done—while the same sale still becomes a proper invoice behind the scenes.

You can run POS on its own, or pair it with Digital Invoicing (FBR or PRA), Supply Chain stock, and Accounting. Enable what you need per company; the checkout flow picks up the pieces that are turned on.

What the counter screen feels like

POS is a dedicated full-screen workspace—not a cluttered back-office page. Staff search or scan products by name, SKU, or barcode, add lines to a cart, adjust quantities, and finish the sale with keyboard shortcuts when they want speed (for example F2 to focus search, F9 to complete the sale).

By default the buyer is a built-in Walk-in Customer, which covers most retail and over-the-counter work. When you do know the buyer, you can switch to a registered customer from the same screen.

Cash, card, and a clear bill

Tender cash (with change calculated) or card. You can also apply a simple bill discount in rupees or percent; the system spreads it across the lines so totals stay honest. The sale is not a separate “POS-only” document floating outside your books—it is a real invoice tagged as coming from POS, so reports, reprint, and compliance all stay in one place.

One tap for digital invoicing (when you enable it)

If Digital Invoicing is on for the company, completing a walk-in sale can validate and submit in one step to the authority that company uses—Federal FBR or Punjab PRA eIMS. You do not finish the counter sale and then remember a second posting job later.

For named (non–walk-in) customers, the screen can offer skip options when your process needs them. Walk-in retail stays on the full path so busy counters do not accidentally skip compliance.

Stock and money, without extra clicks

When Supply Chain is enabled, checkout can check warehouse stock for tracked products and automatically raise and confirm a goods issue note (GIN) for the sale—so the shelf quantity drops when the customer walks out, not at month-end.

When Accounting is enabled, POS can post a receipt voucher for the payment (cash or bank-style accounts depending on how they paid). Counter staff still see one “Complete sale” action; the ledgers catch up in the background.

Thermal receipt after the sale

After a successful checkout you can print an 80mm thermal receipt from the same invoice print engine used elsewhere in the product—handy for shops that still hand the customer a slip at the counter. Reprint stays available from the invoice when someone needs a copy later.

Getting started

Ask your admin (or start a 7-day free trial) with the Point of Sale module enabled. Load products and a walk-in-friendly catalog, optionally connect FBR or PRA credentials, then open POS and run a few practice sales. Module names and shortcut keys can shift between releases; the behaviour above reflects the POS checkout flow in Wise Digital Invoice today: cart → invoice → optional authority submit, stock issue, receipt voucher, and thermal print.
